On November 4, we will vote on Proposition 50 in favor of mid-decade redistricting to counteract MAGA’s effort to change the rules in order to keep the majority in the House. The opposition is already flooding our mailboxes and airwaves.
We have to organize in order to convince Californians to vote YES.
In August, Texas Republican lawmakers, at Trump’s and Abott’s request, voted to enact new gerrymandered congressional district lines to add 5 Republican seats to the house in 2026 and keep the majority in congress.

This is a constitutional amendment that temporarily suspends the districts worked out by the independent redistricting commission in 2021 until the next census in 2030, while still reaffirming the support for fair, nonpartisan redistricting commissions nationwide.
The application of the new maps is triggered by any Republican state modifying their maps.
