Sister District South Bay Poetry Walk
Benefitting MI and WI grassroots organizations
March 16, 2025 - 2 to 4 PM
Palo Alto
Palo Alto Library
270 Forest Avenue, Palo Alto
Have you ever noticed that many streets in Palo Alto are named after writers? We will walk around a part of old Palo Alto, discussing poets like Homer, Walt Whitman, Coleridge, and Tennyson, as well as the founding history of Palo Alto, historical events through the centuries, brief capsules of Bryant, Channing, Addison, Lincoln, Kingsley, Walter Scott, Melville, and Lowell - as we pass these streets.
The proceeds will go to benefit these these grassroots, power-building organizations in 2025: We the People Michigan, Mothering Justice in Michigan, Citizen Action of Wisconsin Education Fund and WISDOM in Wisconsin. For more information about these organizations, check out Sister District’s State Bridges program!
