Walking in the World as a Black Woman -- Experiences and Reflections
Mar 09, 2022
With Maya McCray
Maya will take us on a journey through her life as a Black woman raised in San Francisco by her mother, a cosmetologist and homemaker, and her father, a minister and professor. She will share experiences and lessons from her career, her volunteer work in the community, and as a mother that have shaped her as she moved through Silicon Valley and the larger world. Maya has a B.A. in African American Studies from San Jose State. Her passions are books, art, crafting, and children.
This brings to conclusion our workshop series "Dismantling Systems of Oppression In Our Fight for Democracy" by Emily Thomas.
